So I was talking to someone I’d met online for a few weeks and all of a sudden felt ghosted. I’ve heard from him since and although I’m no longer completely convinced I wasn’t abandoned mid “getting-to-know”, I do feel confident about my decision to stop online dating altogether. (more…)

Online dating and “ghosting”: not for the faint of heart
After having sex twice with a handsome, smart, seemingly charming gentleman, things began to fade. Both times I asked him, “the sex is great, but there’s more to this than the sex, right?” And he agreed there was, but we all know what a person says isn’t as important as their actions.
But, I was cutting him some slack. Eddie had actually lost his job while we were dating. He was anxious about it at first, but felt confident he would land on his feet quickly. After that, I did notice that he wasn’t as responsive to my texts and then the responses became few and far between.
Then the silence came…
